Presenter Hailee Steinfeld was one of the women I saw on the red carpet and went “oohh, who is that?” She took a risk in this light blue Elie Saab gown with a chiffon skirt and sequin and floral top. There’s something very superhero-like about the matching cuffs. The Wonder Woman fan in me loves that detail! One small criticism I could make is that the top looks a little low for her, but that’s minor.

Erika Alexander from American Fiction was an early arrival on the red carpet. She was in Christian Siriano, and on the E! red carpet panel Siriano praised how easy it was to work with her, saying not all celebrities are like that. I can only imagine. The multicolor ombre skirt is a little strange, but I like this from the waist up. My favorite look from Erika this awards season was at the SAG Awards! Erika sent a message to her mom on the red carpet, thanking her for all the sacrifices she made for her growing up.

Brittany Snow, who was in the Oscar nominated short film Red, White and Blue, was another early arrival. She was in yellow Monot. On E! they were saying that Monot is usually black or white but that they made an exception for Brittany. I don’t know if this is the right color for her but she looks incredible overall.

Marlee Matin was in purple Rodarte. People Magazine says this is a nod to her purple Oscars gown from when she won for Children of a Lesser God in 1987, but other than the color I’m not really seeing it. I hope they asked Marlee if she wanted to be one of the Best Actress presenters. On the red carpet Laverne Cox put the mic in front of her and Marlee pushed it to her interpreter. I don’t blame Laverne for making that mistake I’m sure it’s just habit!
